BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:The Benefits Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day operations and administration of the company’s retirement plans. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:Administer plans and maintain programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including ERISA, DOL, IRS, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, as well as company policies & procedures relating to retirement plan administration; maintain and administer enrollment records, monitor vendor interfaces and audit records to ensure accuracy, and assist vendors with questions and requests. Manage eligibility for retirement plans, employee & employer contributions, loans, and distributions to ensure plan operations are compliant. Work closely with recordkeeper on contribution reconciliation and prepare documents for wire transfers to and from plan trustee. Prepare plan budget annually and monitor periodically to identify monthly and year-to-date variances. Assist with data collection and interface with auditors to provide support for annual plan audit, form 5500 preparation, and annual disclosure reporting requirements. Complete the annual compliance testing, prepare and audit employee records and submit data for testing, resolve discrepancies, and finalize results including issuing refunds or QNEC’s as applicablePerform periodic audits of HRIS records to ensure accuracy of employee contributions, eligibility, participation, calculations, and data interfaces to vendors.Research and analyze the retirement plan offerings and make recommendations to meet company’s overall objective to offer a competitive total rewards package that meets the needs of our employees. Monitor benefit trends and analyze cost impact of new programs or changes to existing programs.Assist employees with benefit enrollment, interpret plan provisions, and resolve complex employee benefit issues. Resolve retirement benefits operational issues resulting from incomplete or inaccurate employee data records.Assist with developing communication materials for retirement plans and coordinate employee information meetings, webinars, and related activities with vendors and carriers. Maintain positive relationships with vendors and third-party administrators, provide feedback and implement service or process improvements. Assist with due diligence activities and the integration of plans related to company acquisitions and regulatory compliance.Other duties as assigned by management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is required: With a degree at least 3 years’ experience in defined contribution plan administration is required. Advanced knowledge of federal regulations regarding defined contribution plans and direct experience with retirement plan administration, compliance testing, and plan audit supportStrong organizational and analytical skills and attention to detailStrong multi-tasking capabilities, flexibility and adaptabilityStrong customer service competencyExperience with ad hoc reporting, MS office, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Typical office environment.
